Parking

As an owner I have been asking since day one about getting an additional parking space. It seems unlikely at this point although I am keeping my hopes up. What about you? Are you interested in more parking? Do you think you will not use what you have?

Let's start a discussion. Join in by posting a comment with your thoughts. And, as always sign up so the builder sees the interest form the owners. The more support I have on this blog, the more interesting it will become.

thanks!

  1. Updates added.
However so far I have no more news on parking. There are several parking spaces across the street the builder wants to use for those of us wanting more in this building but has to go through that building's Board and at this point the Board indicates only owners in the building can use parking there.

  3. we just did our colours the other day with Nickole and found that the up grades were pretty reasonable for a builder that is. I just learned that the fourth floor will have 10ft ceilings"nice"but pot lights are not an option due to fire rated drywall. People you might want to upgrade your hall mirror doors or master bedroom sliding cardboard doors to double doors for $400 each set something to think about anyway.

    1. I did look into the flooring for the haven it's either laminate or engineered wood they do not have any hardwood and the price worked out to $12sqft the granite was $4000 with undercount sink and the big crown molding 5" worked out to $8 lineer ft. and under counter lights $500 and valance $400 and also you can upgrade your stove to a smooth top for $300 overhead micro$215 instead of hood fan all done at the brick the bigger baseboards is a$525 upgrade looks nice . distinctive granite guy in burlington told me $1900 for better granite installed with sink and for hardwood if you can wait you can get that later for $6 installed.Make sure you ask to delete towel bar and soap dish and toilet paper holder because they are the ugly ceramic type that are hard to remove later other than all that there is a lot of nice standard tiles and kitchen cupboards and kohler toilet and taps

  5. From what I have seen so far, the smaller unit at 650 or so SQFT was about 1300 to 2000 to do hardwoods throughout all rooms. (The price depending on upgrade 1 to 3) I think it worked out to about $3 and change per square foot but don't quote me. I thought it was really reasonable for good quality flooring.

  6. $3 for actual hardwood is a pretty decent price. Typically you can look to the 7-9$ range for genuine hardwood so I'm happy if the number is around the $3 range. Looking forward to finally putting a picture into reality!

  7. I have picked my finishes and the laminate flooring upgrade for me (haven model) was close to 3500 dollars very expensive, so I decided on carpet instead and I will install my own laminate once I gain possession of the unit. When I worked it out it was approximately 6 dollars a square foot, just something to think about. The standard finishes are very nice especially in the tiling. I opted out of the towel/toilet paper and soap dish as I was told this is very hard to do once it is already placed. I also opted out of handles in my kitchen because I felt the pricing of the upgraded handles were a little ridiculous. I am really excited to see it all put together very soon. Does anyone know how much approximately our closing costs will be? this is my first home and I am trying to plan what kind of money I am going to need at closing time!

    1. I think it's in 3 instalments over sixty days or in full on the spot or 50/50 50% on mortgage and the other part pay now.

  9. I bet none of you asked about your ceiling. The ceiling is popcorn mixed with some patches of smooth...forgot what she called it but Nicole let me see a pic of it and it was real ugly. I upgraded my ceiling to smooth finish for only $300. I'm on the 4th floor as well so that's a huge deal. Also, i think it's a bad idea to have tiles in the foyer and kitchen if your condo is under 1000 sq. So, I did the same floor throughout the whole unit plus bedroom...makes the place look bigger. Just some tips!

    -flat ceilings
